Emily is a multi-instrumentalist living in Red Bank, NJ. She started playing saxophone at age nine and immediately fell in love with the instrument. After quickly progressing through her studies, Emily went on to pursue a BA in music at the Sunderman Conservatory at Gettysburg College. There she studied classical performance, theory and composition, and advanced jazz theory. Graduating with honors, she went on to tour Italy, France and Turkey with her college jazz band. Upon returning to the states, she established herself as a popular saxophonist along the Jersey Shore, performing at venues throughout the state. She has had the pleasure of sharing the stage with many artists, including jazz greats Barry Harris, Chris Brubeck and the late Billy Taylor. Emily’s influences are far reaching with some of her favorite players being Dexter Gordon, Sonny Rollins, David Sanborn and Bobby Keys. While her favorite genre to play is jazz, Emily is always eager to expand her repertoire and explore new musical paths. This curiosity has steered her to many different genres and encouraged her most recent adoption of trumpet into her studies. When she’s not on the stage or in the studio, Emily enjoys hiking and traveling.
